Project idea
editWhat Wikimedia project(s) and specific areas will you be evaluating?
editIs this project measuring a specific space on a project (e.g. deletion discussions), or the project as a whole?
The project as a whole (Wikimedia 2.0)
Describe your idea. How might it be implemented?
editProvide details about the method or process of how you will evaluate your community or collect data. Does your idea involve private or personally identifying information? Take a look at the Privacy Policy for Wikimedia’s guidelines in this area.
Create an AI software that can scrape the web to find "like" sources (Knowledge Engine? Wolfram?) and can give a relevancy factors to each knowledge bases; coupling with a revamp of the UI & adding more social mechanics with other relevant sites (ie: ResearchGate, Pocket, etc). If implemented properly, we can make Wikimedia into the infrastructure that promotes, encourages, and distinguishes all areas of information over the web. Hypertext is a very unappreciated function but I feel it can be extended to easily present its data in different mediums (Hypermedia). There’s seems to be a beginning of a education evolution and I believe Wiki should be that foundation.
Are there experienced Wikimedians who can help implement this project?
editIf applicable, please list groups or usernames of individuals who you can work with on this project, and what kind of work they will do.
I'm completely new to using Wiki. But I’ll work with anyone who knows what they’re doing because I sure as hell don’t; I’m more of the Creative lead. I do know we'll need some sugar, spice, and everything nice.
How will you know if this project is successful? What are some outcomes that you can share after the project is completed?
editSuccess in this project will be defined with an increase in traffic to the wikiprojects, evolution of knowledge of time, and more active users (editors/readers).
How would your measurement idea help your community make better decisions?
editAfter you are finished measuring or evaluating your Wikimedia project, how do you expect that information to be used to benefit the project?
If the goal of the Idea is to increase KPIs for Wikimedia sites (traffic, users, information) then there needs to be an incentive to those who learn on necessity and cultivate those who love learning by making knowing things more dynamic and digestible (Use of more color, visual, design).
Do you think you can implement this idea? What support do you need?
editDo you need people with specific skills to complete this idea? Are there any financial needs for this project? If you can’t implement this project, can you scale down your project so it is doable?
Do I think can implement this idea? Yes, because I know where the idea needs to go. In regards to support, ill have to figure that out when we get there. I’m more than eager to expand my craft and I feel like offering ideas to help is the best way to do that. I do know I'll need a computer and snacks. Mainly the snacks
