What is the problem you're trying to solve? edit
An end to sexism and intolerance on Wikipedia is necessary to eliminate the hostile and unfriendly environment often experienced here by female editors.
What is your solution? edit
Following summarizes my solution to making Wikpedia a more user-friendly and attrative organization for female contributors, including myself, as posted in Inspire today: Particularly the male editors, most especially those in authority and administrative positons on Wikipedia, must be open-minded, considerate, and respectful toward women. They must take women and our concerns seriously. They must not jump to conclusions, immediately thinking that they are always right and women are always wrong. And, women contributors must not be treated as if we are wrong, bad, and therefore, in need of being punished by men with punitive actions simply for speaking out and standing up for our beliefs and ideals. I have stood up against many men on Wikipedia, including editors, "highly esteemed" and experienced editors, and administrators who just don't get it. They are stuck in a vicious cycle of not respecting women, criticizing women, being punitive toward women, and basically getting involved in gang cyber bullying of women because they nearly all stand up with each other against the woman. These constitute the main reasons why I am no longer very actively involved in contributing here. I love to write, create, and contribute, but the atmosphere is hostile, unfriendly, and unsafe toward women such as myself who have a voice and stand up for ourselves. Too many men on Wikipedia want to control, control, control, suppress, suppress, suppress, rather than listen, be open, and be considerate. It is nothing what I imagined it would be. The negative commentary about Wikipedia that one can locate in online networks is definitely very correct. Wikipedia could be so much more, but, overall, is limited, hostile, and regressive in my perspective due to sexism and controlling, closed-minded folks who have the power and make the decisions about others' and other's work and comments. Hire women so greater equality, diversity, tolerance, and understanding is achieved.

- Researcher Seek out articles and talk pages with a sexist tone and create a list of examples, identify trends, and create report to submit to admins for review, along with links to examples (???) - I endorse the premise and have seen this happen myself. Since so many men do not fall into that category of aggressive Wikiers, increased tolerance will help them, too, in their editorial efforts. We are in this together. Thank you, Wordreader (talk) 19:48, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
- Excellent analysis. One of the best suggestions I've seen is a quota system of verified female admins and arbitrators. Some may be just male puppets, so we also need to get rid of any and all abusive arbitrators and administrators. Unfortunately, it may take some stronger intervention by WMF to do that.
