New Learning Day at Wikimania 2015!

We will host a series of workshops, on Wednesday, July 15, on the days prior to Wikimania 2015, in Mexico City. Due to limited space, attendance to this Learning Day is by invitation only. Participants will have the opportunity to further engage in topics such as tracking and reporting, storytelling, organizational development, and other topics in evaluation. If you have received an invitation email, please be sure to confirm your attendance and remember to fill out the survey! Instructions for sharing knowledge Posters Poster dimensions The maximum dimensions for your poster are 36 x 48 in (91.44 x 121.92 cm). We suggest using the A0 paper size, which is 33.11 x 46.81 in (~84 x 118 cm): (http://www.prepressure.com/library/paper-size/din-a0) Most word processor and layout programs will allow you to set the size of your poster file to A0. You can create a smaller poster if you want to, but bigger is (usually) better! Creating your poster There are many programs you can use to create a poster. We have found that Microsoft PowerPoint, LibreOffice Presentation, and LibreOffice Draw are the most easy to use, and make good looking posters. Other programs like Adobe InDesign & Illustrator have more features, but they are also more difficult to learn, and they are expensive. Whichever program you choose, make sure to set the size of your poster file before you start adding words and pictures. This will help you make sure that the fonts you are using are the right size, and that the pictures you include have a high enough resolution to print properly. How to set paper size in LibreOffice documents: http://smartpress.com/pages/posters-and-signs-in-libreoffice Finalizing your poster Once your poster is complete, please print it to PDF format and open it in a PDF reader to make sure that everything is displaying correctly. Are your pictures blurry? Is your text aligned? Once you are happy with the way your PDF looks, please send the PDF to eval@wikimedia.org.
