- Abstract
How can GLAM collaborations cultivate our shared goal of increased diversity in Wikipedia content and participants, and in a variety of language contexts? How can we continue to evolve as a movement while working with GLAM institutions around the world? By increasing GLAM initiatives, including Wikimedian-in-Residence positions, around gender and diversity specifically with global GLAM stakeholders, we can continue to increase awareness about our gaps and progress towards closing these gaps.
As we move forward and implement our Movement Strategy, focusing on such initiatives may become crucial in fulfilling our stated goals. As such, we should be continuing to explore the changing nature of such collaborations, how to communicate them to external partners, and how we as a community should be bold in experimenting with the existing model. This panel aims to raise awareness to existing efforts and their importance, as well as discuss means to scale these efforts around the world.
