Appeal

Wikipedia is the largest encyclopedia in human history. But it is far more: It is a story of sharing, a story I would like to share with you.

When I first grasped the idea behind Wikipedia, I was amazed: A project, not dedicated to financial gain, but to the idea of free knowledge, that everyone is free to use. Its goal: not to make money or manipulate people, but to build an encyclopedia that is free of bias and ads.

Sharing with others is what drives Wikipedia editors like me to spend time on improving Wikipedia. Tens of thousands of volunteers from all over the world are collaborating by writing articles in over 250 languages.

I'm part of this huge community, and you can be, too. You can become an editor and improve Wikipedia. But you can also help out by donating money: money we will spend on keeping the servers running and spreading free knowledge for everyone on the whole planet. Please help this wonderful project by donating now.
