The Librarians of the Kwara State Library, Ilorin, Kwara state, Nigeria, would be introduced and engaged on the use of Wikipedia and Wikidata to contribute to open source knowledge. There's a need to ensure the library maximize the use of wikipedia and Wikidata and contribute to their community.

Summary

The project will entail conducting Wikidata and Wikipedia training at the Kwara State Library, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. It will hold February 27th 2020 where experienced editors would be engaged to train the librarians and exposes them fully to Wikipedia and Wikidata.

Budget

Internet - $50 Food - 40 x $6 = $240 Certificate of Participation - 40 x $1.5 = $60 Pen, Stickers, Notebook - 40 x $2 = $80 Logistics and Transport - $25 Roll-up Banner - $100

Timetable

This training will hold on 27th of February, 2020.

Expected results

This training will provide librarians of the Kwara State Library, Ilorin with the knowledge of contributing and sourcing information to and from Wikipedia and Wikidata. The training would teach 40 librarians on the rudiments of the use of Wikipedia and Wikidata, and create a system to ensure this knowledge is sustained and improved.

About me

My name is Ajayi Oreoluwa, a Wikipedia Volunteer Editor affiliated with the Wikipedia Fan Club UNILORIN as the Special Duties Officer and Wikimedia Ilorin Hub, with a number of edit contributions and co-hosting events to teach new editors how they can be a part of Wikimedia projects.
