Description
Dansk: Et kors udskåret af hvalrostand, sammensat af to store blokke af tandmateriale. Latinske indskrifter nævner "Liutger, der har skåret mig på opfordring af Helena, også kaldet Gunhild", en datter af "den store kong Svend", antagelig Svend (Grathe), der døde i 1157. Navnet Gunhild står også med runer. Forsidens Kristusfigur mangler. Bagsiden har udskårne motiver fra Dommedag. Fundomstændigheder: Korset omtales første gang i 1650 og skulle have tilhørt Holger Rosenkrantz' hustru Sophie Brahe. 1684 erhvervedes det af det kgl. Kunstkammer og kom i 1845 til Nationalmuseet. Datering: o. 1150 .
