Igbo Wikimedians User Group is giving her full support for the launch of Ebonyi State University (EBSU) IG Wiki Fan Club for the promotion of Igbo Language and culture through Wikimedia project. The event is aimed at recruiting undergraduates who are passionate volunteers and literate in Igbo language to help achieve the preservation of the Igbo language through making knowledge accessible in our local language.

Expected outcomes :

Participants will be introduced to Wikimedia Foundation and it's sister projects. Learn how to create a username and user page as a beginner.

Also, participants will understand better how to utilize their everyday mobile phones or laptop devices to translate English wikipedia articles to Igbo language. They will get translate at least two articles for each person as an hands on training.

Targeted audience : open to all literate person in Igbo Language. To take part, please register on this event page above.

Prerequisites : This program is Beginner level. Ideally, you will come with an open mind to learn and keep your devices charged.
