  • Title of the session:

Meet the winners of the contest "Investigating Wikimedia Projects in the classroom".

  • Summary of the session:

During 2021, the Education and Human Rights Program of Wikimedia Argentina, together with the National University of La Plata, organized the contest "Investigating Wikimedia projects in the classroom". This contest sought to promote and accompany the development of research that analyzes experiences of using Wikimedia Projects in educational contexts.More than 25 projects were presented, and 10 were selected to participate. After an annual accompaniment, each group presented their research and the winning projects were selected by a jury of specialists.

In this lightning talk we will talk with the three winning projects and with the group that received a special mention for their work. Starting with three questions, each group will present their experience, tell us how participating in this contest transformed their work in the classroom and their view of the links between wikimedia projects and education.

  • Outcome of the session:
  • Learn about the contest "Investigate Wikimedia projects in the classroom" and its winners.
  • Learn about research that was carried out on wikimedia and education in Argentina.
  • Share work experiences with Wikimedia projects developed by actors from the academy, in their own contexts.

Spanish with English subtitles.
