Enclopedia and dictionary of all/most conlangs without or with little notability requirements on the languages (however other requirements may still be needed). This is different that Wikipedia because of the lack of notability requirements and different from wiktionary because not only will it allow more conlangs but also document more on their grammar and stuff.

This is a proposal for a new Wikimedia sister project.

  1. @GTbot2007:, what do you think about the conlang shelf in Wikibooks? -Gifnk dlm 2020 From Middle English Wikipedia 📜📖💻 (talk) 08:46, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Are all conlangs eligible to have a book? GTbot2007 (talk) 18:31, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Oppose. First I note that "CONLANG" is not defined in the proposal. To assist other respondents, "CONLANG" appears to be short for "constructed language". In particular, some people have a hobby of making up their own personal "language". This may be accompanied by fictional histories and fictional places where it is fictionally spoken. In particular, note that the proposal explicitly declares little or no notability requirement. This is a proposal to FREEWEBHOST personal works of fiction. See the two example sites linked in the proposal: linguifex.com and frathwiki.com.
I have no objections to whatever hobby someone enjoys, but this would be a grossly inappropriate for a Wikimedia project. Wikimedia is not a free webhost for personal pages and/or random personal fiction. I also find it notworthy that you can't exactly establish dispute resolution policies for which version is correct (or incorrect) in an editing conflict. If people are arguing over a fictional language, there is no right or wrong. It's all just fiction. Alsee (talk) 03:01, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    1. Conlangs are not fiction, they are works of art
    2. This wiki isnt about making conlangs so you would like still need to sorce the information, and there is the same amount right and wrong as writing about the Spanish languige. 166.109.26.70 16:21, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
