Communication Projects Group/Projects/How it works
ComProj's project page is the central forum for the organisation of ComProj's projects. Please read the instructions carefully before making edits to it. At present, it is a new way of working that we have not fully transferred to.
Summary
To ensure efficiency, each project will be assigned a project manager (PM). The PM is responsible for setting deadlines, and to ensure that everyone involved is on track. No one can be denied access to a project. Essentially, the PM is there to only provide organizational support. If you are interested in a particular project, we encourage you to contact the project's PM manager, as well as list your name under the project page. If you are interested in project management, we also encourage you to volunteer as a PM.
For people with projects
editAnyone can list a new project that they wish for ComProj help with. To do so, please use this form (replace Project name with a short name for your project and do not remove the prefix). Once completed, add a link to the project to the new section below for co-ordinator review.
For project managers
editOnce a project is approved by a co-ordinator as being within ComProj's scope of work (this is to ensure that we remain on communications topics, and that work for other groups does not end up here), it will be moved to the pending status until it is taken on by a project manager. Managers who take a project should edit the template on the project page to reflect this, and move the project to the active category on this page. Once a project is complete, please archive it and set the status to closed.
Some projects are not appropriate for project management, such as those being carried out by just one person. In those situations, they will be moved from new to active, bypassing the pending queue.
For ComProj members
editYou are invited to participate in any currently active project. Simply go to the page and add yourself to the assigned list. Discussion on projects normally takes place on the associated talk pages here on meta.
