Cyprus Forum: AI, Wikipedia, and the Future of Knowledge

On September 30th, we had the privilege of participating in the Cyprus Forum, a three-day international conference that unites local and foreign political leaders, influential figures from both the public and private sectors, media professionals, academics, and civic society representatives. During the forum, Wikimedia User Group Cyprus and Wikimedia User Group Greece hosted a fireside discussion titled "AI, Wikipedia, and the Future of Knowledge: Nurturing Transparency, Collaboration, and Accessibility." Speakers Marios Magioladites and Anna Prodromou delved into the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and the cooperative ethos of Wikipedia in molding the future landscape of knowledge. They examined the role of AI algorithms in information retrieval, underscoring the advantages and challenges associated with personalized content discovery.
