Bangla WikiConference 2024, is a conference that aims to bring together Bangla-speaking Wikimedians from Bangladesh, India, and around the world, offering a platform for sharing ideas, discussing challenges, and exchanging valuable tips and best practices. Organized by Wikimedia Bangladesh, the event is set to take place near Dhaka, Bangladesh, on November 15-16, 2024. The conference will foster meaningful discussions on the opportunities and challenges surrounding Bangla Wikipedia and its sister projects. It will also showcase innovative projects and methodologies, encouraging networking and collaboration to strengthen the open knowledge movement within the Bangla-speaking community.

Theme

♦ Knowledge: is the basic foundation on which any community, society, or culture is built. For the Wikicommunity, knowledge holds even greater significance because the primary goal of Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects is to make knowledge easily accessible to everyone.

♦ Diversity: is an opportunity for the Bangla-speaking Wikicommunity, where various volunteer groups, individuals and collaborators from different cultures will closely engage and equitably collaborate with each other at various stages of wiki development.

♦ Collaboration: as a formal event, the Bangla WikiConference serves as a means for Bangla-speaking Wikicommunity members to learn from each other and exchange knowledge. Here, discussions and solutions will be focused on various community initiatives, the use of wiki tools, event organization, online campaigns, edit-a-thons, and resolving wiki-related issues.
