Almanaqil- Sudan Workshop

Introduction

As part of Sudanese Content on Wikimedia Project 2021, the Wikimedia Community User Group Sudan coordinated implementation of new user training Al Manaqil workshop was held in Sudan Al Jazirah state Al Manaqil city at the Haj Saeed Training Academy.

Targeting multimedia producer graduated of university starting their career as audio and video montieer about the benefits that this global community provides to individuals and local communities

Aim

This workshop also aims to introduce the participants to Wikimedia and the projects. Its various affiliates... in addition to guiding them on how to create a successful Wikimedia community in the city of Al-Manaqil...

Agenda

The workshop's objectives also include:

1. Clarifying the concept, objectives, foundations and ethics of free means of communication through encyclopedias.

2. Introducing participants to the various projects affiliated with Wikimedia

3. Explain how to contribute to these projects by adding new content or improving existing content.

4. Applying the process of creating and sustaining a community in the city of Al-Manaqil. The workshop also included a detailed explanation of Wikipedia...free editing...and other projects affiliated with Wikimedia.

Report

The workshop began by providing an overview of the Wikimedia Foundation, which is one of the most prominent virtual communities in the world. This organization explains its goals in providing free content to the public in addition to its role in developing free editing tools.

The lecturers then gave a detailed explanation about Wikimedia projects, as this vision opened great horizons among the participants, and they showed great interest in moving towards finding appropriate and useful projects. At the conclusion of the workshop, the lecturer helped the trainees to create login accounts on the platform as a starting point for the project. It was agreed to hold additional workshops and lectures to enable the trainees to benefit from the advantages of registration in the hope of joining the Wikimedia Al-Manaqil community and the beginning of the actual contribution to projects related to the region in all fields.
