Affiliations Committee/Resolutions/Renewal Wikimedia Community Brazilian Education and Research (May 2016)

Whereas:

1. Recognizing Wikimedia User Groups is the responsibility of the Affiliations Committee;
2. On April 12, 2015, Wikimedia Community Brazilian Group of Education and Research was recognized as Wikimedia User Group by the Affiliations Committee for a term of 1 year that finished on April 12, 2016;
3. The affiliation requirements for Wikimedia User Groups include annual renewal based on the annual activities report submitted by the group.

The group maintains

• Photo Contests
  • Wiki Loves Monuments 2015 - Report
  • Loves Earth 2015 Wiki Loves Earth 2015 - Report
  • WLE/WLM Exhibition
• Continued development of an Education Program including the development of a book chapter regarding Wikipedia Education Program in Brasil, lectures presenting the program and workshops on How to use Wikipedia as a teaching tool and Collaboration on Wikipedia
• Wikimedia Projects training via edit-a-thons (LabCEUs, Dia Internacional da Mulher: Mulheres na Tecnologia, Reconstruction and 3D modeling - In cooperation with Arc-Team and EBRAFOL, and Sismo da Cidade do México de 1985 - In cooperation with Wikimedia México).
• Nearly monthly User group meetings or Hangouts and other outreach including:
  • at Campus Party Brasil 2015
  • Activities and partnership negotiation and presenting Wikimedia's projects as tools for digital inclusion and education
  • Wikipédia constrói o conhecimento no século 21 ( Interview for the Zero Hora newspaper)
• 3 Academic articles (A, B,C) and a Doctoral thesis.

1. The current status and work performed by Wikimedia Community Brazilian Group of Education and Research have been reviewed by the Affiliations Committee;
2. They have fulfilled the minimum requirements to retain their status as a Wikimedia User Group;

The Affiliations Committee has determined that the Wikimedia User Group satisfies the requirements for renewal of its status as an affiliate.

Therefore be it resolved that the Wikimedia User Group status of Wikimedia Community Brazilian Group of Education and Research is hereby renewed until April 12, 2017.
