Congratulations, dear administrator! edit

Congratulations, XXBlackburnXx! You now have the rights of an administrator on Meta-Wiki. Please take a moment to read the Meta:Adminstrators page and watchlist related pages (in particular Meta:Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat, and Meta:Requests for deletion, but also Talk:Spam blacklist and Talk:Interwiki map), before launching yourself into page deletions, page protections, account blockings, or modifications of protected pages. The majority of the actions of administrators can be reversed by the other admins, except for history merges which must thus be treated with particular care. Please feel free to join us on IRC: #wikimedia-adminconnect. You may find Meta:Admin handbook to be useful. Please also check or add your entry to the Template:List of administrators. You're also allowed to subscribe to the metawiki-admins private mailing list (subscription instructions on that page). Again, congratulations and welcome to the team. --M/ (talk) 08:56, 8 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Spam domains without any additions? edit

Hi!

First of all, thanks for fighting against gambling spam! I was just wondering how you found all those domains, in particular since some of them don't seem to have any additions since November 2023 (unless Spamcheck has a bug). E.g. from this report 11bet.mom, 11bet.cm, 11betv.com and others have no recent additions recorded. Count Count (talk) 10:06, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

I just grabbed everything global search said. Some of these additions are there prior november 2023 like id:Special:Diff/24125309 here. Your tool is working fine ;). XXBlackburnXx (talk) 10:09, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ah ok, thanks! I might write a global link search tool as well, global search is a tad slow sometimes. Count Count (talk) 10:11, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Advice for global rollback and/or abuse filter helper roles edit

Hello.

I am here to ask you about advice to receive the global rollback and/or the abuse filter helper role (on all wikis). Another user told me that my cross-wiki activity looks good, but they said that I was edit warring with a specific vandal on slwiki; for that, I hereby apologize for that big mistake that I did, and it should not happen again.

Nowadays, I try to avoid edit wars with another vandal per w:WP:NOROLLBACK, as someone may highlight this and some people may oppose my next GR request (the first one obviously failed, but that's because I was new at the time).

As for the abuse filter helper role, I can help out with authoring filters to track specific vandals, and I plan to be an edit filter helper on the English Wikipedia by this Novemeber or March of 2025 (and maybe become a Meta administrator in a few years, intending to help out with local and global filters and other tasks). I have requested and authored filter 1292 that tracks this vandal on enwiki via email, and I have written a somewhat complex regex string for filter 936 on enwiki too that tracks another vandal in the Philippines. I signed the confidentiality agreement and so am identified to the Wikimedia Foundation, so I should be trusted to handle private data without leaking said information.
