The Yoruba Wikiplants Contest is a project of the Yoruba Wikimedians User Group with a focus on bridging knowledge gaps about general plants on Yoruba Wikipedia. The project involves running a contest within the Yoruba Wikipedian community to improve existing articles or create new ones on Yoruba Wikipedia. This initiative serves as a response to the need for increased visibility for our ecosystem, particularly in light of the impact of climate change.

Timeline edit

The scheduled time for this contest is from 9th December 2023 - 22nd December 2023.

How to participate edit

  1. Login to your Wikimedia account,
  2. Click on any of the listed articles below to translate from English to Yoruba Wikipedia.
  3. If you click on any of the listed article, it will direct you to Yoruba Wikipedia where you can create it as a new article,
  4. Open a new tab to search for the same article topic on English Wikipedia. For example Mango.
  5. Click edit on the English article and copy the content you want to translate.
  6. Come back to Yoruba Wikipedia article you are working on and paste your copied content, then start your translation. That's all. If you need help, kindly send a message to @Agbalagba or @Macdanpets for assistance. Happy translation.....!
