February 2016Edit

  • Now I have finished the Infobox/Quickbar for cities on de: I have rewritte the wikidata module as well. The quickbar is able to find the province article of any existing place by climbing up the geographical hierarchy on wikidata over districts and counties up to the provinces/prefectures/states. It also picks the qualifiers on wikidata for population and it compares your own data with wikidata. So you can activate Wikidata Tools do get a bigger quickbar with additional information like "different altitude on Wikidata" or something like that, including tools to edit Wikidata/the article. -- DerFussi 15:14, 9 February 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

  • We somehow passed 4K articles in the end of January or the beginning of February. Many of them are monument listings though.--Ymblanter (talk) 22:02, 19 February 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

March 2016Edit

  • On january, We has adopted a new sysops inactivity policy. This policy defines activity when sysop realices 15 log actions/edits on principal namespace.
  • Much time since the last news from eswikivoyage. Now, is my pleased to announce *drums*: Spanish Wikivoyage has reached the 2,000 travel guides! We are happy for this, and are preparing a event to impulse our project. The event is coming soon. Greetings, --White Master (es) 23:52, 16 March 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

  • Discussion about the new maps technology, and about Visual Editor

April 2016Edit

  • Should we relax the requirement for a place to sleep as the basis of an article?

May 2016Edit

June 2016Edit

  • The Wikidata-powered Quickbar is now in general use, all problems seem to have been solved.

July 2016Edit

  • In order to improve the Wikidata-powered Quickbar many pieces of information on emergency phone numbers, electricity and location maps have been added to Wikidata. They can be used by Wikimedia projects as well as by external applications. A list with articles to work on can be found at voy:en:Category:Quickbar with missing information.

August 2016Edit

  • Wikidata field in the listing editor. Easy item search, button to fill fields with values copied from Wikidata.

  • We have implemented this new feature as well and I'm working with Ryan to facilitate its implementation on other languages, adding minor changes (e.g. eliminate minor bugs/alert, adding minor new features and simplify JQuery and CSS code)

September 2016Edit

  • Starting this month deployment of WikidataPageBanner extension has been done into the Pagebanner template, as it had been done by enwikivoyage. We found two issues related with this extension's banners:
    1. We at eswikivoyage had the habit of putting a flag alongside the title pagebanner in countries' guides (e.g. A flag of Morocco in a guide about Morocco). But it seems not to be possible with WDPB extension, as shows the flag image code as text and not recognises the wikicode. Therefore, temporarily we have to remove the flags.
    2. The second issue has already been found by enwikivoyage users, and it is the WDPB pagebanner displaces the breadcrumb (IsPartOf template) and map title icon below the pagebanner. While this is not resolved, it's necessary to add a tweak or hack into Common.css and Common.js in order to force displaying in the right position. (see voy:en:Special:Permalink/3039883#Breadcrumb_menu_and_map_icon_dropping_below_the_banner).
  • We started testing an update of Listing Editor v2.1 based on the code of enwikivoyage but localised. --Zerabat (discusión) 11:15, 23 September 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]
