What edit
- Make it easy to login to wikipedia using the digital identities that researchers and educators already have.
Why edit
- Lower the bar of entry for R&E & K12.
- Support wikipedias anti-fraud activities with high-value identities for key contributors.
- Access to information about contributor home organization and affiliation while preserving anonymity of contributors.
- Fewer passwords to be responsible for.
How edit
- Clean separation between wikipedia infrastructure and identity infrastructure.
- Minimal impact on wikipedia UI
- Invite federations to join wikipedia identity hub instead of having wikipedia join multiple federations.
- Integration-point for things like orcid.org
Goals edit
- Face2face meeting in DC or CA in the spring
- Build PoC together with 2-3 federations during Q1-Q2 2013
