Cultural & Natural Heritage Mapping of Karnatka,India - May-June 2024 is an event organised by Harvinder Chandigarh, the founder member of the User Group Wikimedians of North India, to document the Cultural , Heritage and social life of various potential areas of Karnatka State of India.Karnatka is one of the very rich from point of view of cultural as welll as Natural heritage point of view having many UNESCO recognised cultural and natural heritage sites.It has many and Natitional and State monuments also [1].

Proposal and objectives

• To digitally documenting and preserving Cultural & Natural Heritage and Social life Mapping of different areas of Karnatka by uploading images on Wikipedia Commons.
• uploading photographs of the Monuments in the list which presently lack it.
• uploading better quality photographs of monuments which presently have poor quality photographs.
• To create new content on Wikipedia related to this area.
• To enrich the existing content on Wikipedia by adding relevant images to it.
• To create awareness about Wikipedia in the the local community.
