Running Wikipedia SDG-related events

In this session, different people from the movement will explore how they are bringing the SDGs to their events, including edit-a-thons, campaigns, workshops and training activities. Each presenter will have 3-5 min to explain what was the event about and how they connected it to the SDGs. Following the exchange, we will have a conversation on how some of these activities could be improved and followed up on. Afterwards, we will have some more space in our unconference session.

Proposed edit

This year we can propose a 1,5 hour slot from the user group.

According to How will program applications work in practice? the sessions can be:

  • Lecture-based session: 20 mins presentation + 10 mins of Question & Answer
  • Fireside chat / interviews: 30 mins
  • Discussion (roundtable, panel): 45 mins
  • Workshops + Tutorials: 45 mins
  • Celebrations/Entertainment: 30 mins

According to Telegram chat, these lengths are a bit flexible.

How would we like to compose a slot like this? Consider also that according to [1] this years theme is PAST – PRESENT – FUTURE and the Program topics should be able to be categorized in one of these:

  • Education & GLAM
  • New Voices & Newcomers
  • Partnerships
  • Innovation & Research lab
  • Advocacy, Safety & Community Health
  • Gender, Diversity & Inclusion
  • Strategy 2030
  • Language
  • Community Topics
  • Our stories
  • Other?
