We are the Wikimedia Sustainable Development Group, and we're excited to explore opportunities for collaboration with you! Our group focuses on improving Wikimedia projects on a wide range of topics aligned with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, encompassing everything from environmental issues and gender equality to peacebuilding and economic development. Whether you're a local or regional group aiming to document these topics within your community, or a thematic user group passionate about these subjects, we'd love to connect and discuss how we can work together. Examples of mutual subjects

Anything environment related

Many of the Sustainable Development Goals are about the environment. The first topic that comes to mind is climate change and the ecological crisis. Local/Regional groups can document the environmental situation in their context. Thematic groups who want to work on the theory of environmentalism can also improve related articles.

Anti-discrimination and social equality

Goal 10, Reduced Inequalities, is about creating a more equal world for everyone. So any group that deals with racism/sexism/xenophobia/homophobia/ableism, and any similar oppression dynamic, can find something within the SDG's to work with.

Gender equality

Goal 5 of the Sustainable Development Goals is "gender equality". Gender related projects can therefore very easily adopt a SDG focus for any events that they organise.

Poverty/Hunger

Any group who wants to work on documenting/theorising about poverty, hunger, lack of access to water, to healthcare, to housing etc. can find something within SDG's.

Pretty much everything!

SDG's are very broad, and almost everything with a social focus can be developed within the context of SDG's.
