FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE   

The Wikimedia Foundation this week announced the opening of registration 
for Wikimania 2006, the second annual Wikimania Conference.  The conference 
will be held August 4 - 6, 2005 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.  Attendees 
can register online.  Discounted rates are available for students and 
community members.

Wikimania 2006 will run from August 4 to August 8 at Harvard Law School in 
Cambridge, with support from the Berkman Center for Internet and Society.  
The law school will also be providing housing for many of the attendees 
from around the world.  

The program will feature a combination of workshops, panel discussions, and 
presentations by a variety of speakers.  Presentations submitted in response 
to the conference Call for Participation are being reviewed by its program 
team; other speakers will be invited from the Wikimedia projects, from 
academia and from industry.  The program schedule will run from Friday 
morning until Sunday afternoon; with additional informal events and outings 
held on Monday.
