This is the sixth and the last pre-event newsletter of Wikimedia Wikimeet India 2021, which is an online wiki-event by CIS-A2K to be conducted from 19 – 21 February 2021 during the occasion of International Mother Language Day with different components such as online workshops, presentations, discussions, etc. mostly focusing on different Wikimedia projects in India.

Program edit

The final program schedule is available at the Program page. We have sessions on different topics and different projects, please attend the ones you like. We are delighted to inform that Asaf Bartov (User:Ijon will be the opening speaker (19 February 11:40 - 12:10 UTC/ 17:10 - 17:40 IST). His session topic is: "India: Looking back, looking ahead". Asaf has been observing and supporting Wikimedia efforts in India since 2009, first as a volunteer, and later as a Wikimedia Foundation grants program officer and capacity builder. In this talk, he will offer some thoughts on the Indian Wikimedia journey so far, and on the road that still lies ahead, from his perspective.

We also have a keynote speech by Katherine Maher, the executive director of Wikimedia Foundation. Her talk is on 20 February 05:00 – 05:30 UTC / 10:30 – 11:00 IST. We'll record the sessions.

Friendly Space Policy edit
