Wikimedia Promotions in Federal Polytechnic Kaltungo

Wikimedia Promotions in Federal Polytechnic Kaltungo is a project aimed at contributing to Wikipedia and its sisters' project in the Polytechnic Community in three different ways; making Wikipedia and it's sisters' project acceptable in the institutions, to encourage and engage the students and lecturers in contributing to Wikipedia and it's sisters' project and to also create sustainable groups for the institutions

Action Points edit

  • Creating awareness on Social media.
  • Teaching participants on how to access and create a Wikipedia, Commons Wiki and Wikidata account.
  • Introduction to Wikipedia and Wikidata.
  • Introduction to Wikipedia and Wikidata project tools.
  • Introduction to Wikicommons
  • Practical hands-on and edithathon on how to edit the English and Hausa Wikipedia articles.
  • Practical hands-on and edithathon on how to edit Wikidata items.
  • Practical hands-on and edithathon on how to upload images to Wikicommons.
  • Discussions about the specific challenges of editing Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Wikicommons.

How to participate edit

  Sign in or Create a New Account on Wikipedia.

  Enroll on the Outreach Dashboard to track your contributions .

  Sign up in the participants section on this page.
