Wikimedia Foundation process for community requests

The Wikimedia Foundation makes requests of the Wikimedia community with some regularity. This page lists the Wikimedia community's expectations for Wikimedia Foundation behaviors when making such requests.

List of expectations

• 6 weeks notice
• In any call for comment, either post notice in 5 places
• report the amount of Wikimedia Foundation funding provided to the Wikimedia community to support community self-organization in the project
• list all Wikimedia Foundation staff involved in the project for which the request is made, and estimate their total hours of labor contribution to it
• name the particular Wikimedia Foundation staff person who takes responsibility for the behavior and compliance of all other staff involved
• report an estimate of the total number of Wikimedia community members who are likely to be involved stakeholders in the request
• report an estimate of the total number of Wikimedia community labor hours that the Wikimedia Foundation expects the request will make.
