Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees/Call for feedback: Board of Trustees elections/Discuss Key Questions/Community Question Period Expectations

This proposal has been suggested during the Call for feedback about Board of Trustees elections. If you want to suggest a proposal, please begin by discussing the proposal idea on the Talk page.

Proposals edit

  • Open questions immediately after the nomination period, but at least two months before the election, and require nominees to answer at least four questions per day.
  • As a more nuanced version of the IP's phrasing of the proposal I raised on discussion: "Ensure at least 3 weeks between questions being closed and election commencing, removing only duplicate/spam/otherwise unacceptable questions". Assuming candidates pay attention to questions as they start being asked, that will give at least 5 weeks work on them prior to voting starting, which should be more than enough time. Translation support should be offered to candidates if requested. Nosebagbear (talk) 17:07, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • If the above proposal is not accepted, then instead of ElectCom designating questions, questions should be decided by an open vote of editors Nosebagbear (talk) 17:07, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
