editWhat we stand for
editWikipedia was born of an impossible idea: that every single human could share in the sum of all knowledge.
A letter from Jimmy Wales
editWikipedia is now 16 years old. People entering university today have never known a world without Wikipedia. It has existed from the time they first started learning to read.
Thank you to our donors!
editWe are grateful to be supported by people around the world in so many ways. Writers, editors, photographers, teachers, programmers, designers, and donors all contribute towards the fulfillment of our mission.
