This project exists to advocate for the Wikimedia Movement mission by empowering volunteers to advance it.

Community values advance the Wikimedia mission

The Mission is "to empower and engage people around the world to collect and develop educational content under a free license or in the public domain, and to disseminate it effectively and globally. The empowerment of many people, especially the Wikimedia community, is the most effective way to achieve this mission.

Community elections protect community values

The history of the Wikimedia Movement is a story of community governance to promote community values. The established norm for enacting community governance is community elections of at least half of the seats on the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees. Protecting these elections is the best and most certain way to protect Wikimedia community ethics and values.

Any change to the election structure will have the definite effect of changing the ethics and values of governance, use of resources, and the influence of organizations and individuals whose values differ from those of the Wikimedia community.
