Trust and Safety Policy for Wikimedia Community User Group Zambia
Purpose:
The Wikimedia Community User Group Zambia (WCUG-ZM) is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all members of our community, both online and offline. This Trust and Safety Policy outlines our expectations for behavior and sets guidelines for appropriate conduct.
Scope:
editThis policy applies to all members of the WCUG-ZM community, including but not limited to members, volunteers, participants, attendees, sponsors, and organizers of events and activities.
Code of Conduct:
editWCUG-ZM is committed to maintaining a respectful and inclusive environment for all members of the community. We expect all members to adhere to the following code of conduct:
- Respectful behavior: Members must treat each other with respect and consideration, valuing each other's opinions, viewpoints, and experiences.
- No Harassment: Harassment, bullying, or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes but is not limited to offensive comments, verbal abuse, or any behavior that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment.
- Inclusion: We are committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in our community. We welcome and encourage participation from people of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences.
- Safety: Members must prioritize the safety and well-being of themselves and others. Any behavior that puts the safety of others at risk, such as violence or threats of violence, will not be tolerated.
- Compliance with the law: Members must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Adherence to Wikimedia policies: Members must adhere to all relevant Wikimedia policies, including the Wikimedia Foundation’s Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Code of Conduct
Reporting:
editIf you experience or witness any behavior that violates this Trust and Safety Policy, please report it immediately to the WCUG-ZM leadership team. All reports will be treated with confidentiality and investigated promptly. Appropriate action will be taken to address any violations, including but not limited to warning, suspension, or termination of membership.
Consequences:
editViolation of this Trust and Safety Policy may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to warning, suspension, or termination of membership.
