10 FEBRUARY 2024: Wikimedia Community User Group Cyprus, in collaboration with the WICZ+ FOUNDATION and organized by Anna Prodromou, hosted the HERitage Amplified event, a Wikipedia edit-a-thon focused on enhancing the representation of Cypriot women on Wikipedia. Participants gathered in Nicosia to create and enrich articles about women from diverse backgrounds within Cyprus, aiming to address gender bias in online content. The event highlighted the importance of accurate representation and collaboration in the online space, contributing to greater gender equality on the world’s largest encyclopedia. 8 JUNE 2024: The HERitage Follow-Up Event, organized by the Wikimedia Community User Group Cyprus in the Buffer Zone, was a fantastic step forward in celebrating Cypriot women on Wikipedia. Despite the heat, the event drew in new members and included lively presentations, discussions, and a collaborative edit-a-thon.
