Projects
editThere are several potential projects for Wikimedia Canada, including:
- Become involved with promoting Wikipedia at Canadian Universities
- Start a Canadian Wikisource
- Encourage creation of Aboriginal Wikipedias
- Launch a program to encourage local history, geography additions
- Establish press presence for Wikinews
- Work with archives, libraries, and galleries to release info into the CC
- Organise drives to produce free photos of Canadian locations
- Organize distribution of Wikimedia material to areas of Canada with poor access to libraries and the Internet
- Petition Canadian governments to release some photos under crown copyright under a creative commons copyright
