Abstract:
Overview of improvements to Wikimedia Foundation funding programs, focused on new efforts from the Community Resources team to make funding more accessible for affiliates and individuals. Highlights will include changes in policies for short- and long-term staffing needs, simplified applications for returning applicants, small-scale technical projects, developments in funding opportunities for direct and indirect advocacy work, and reduced multiyear funding requirements.

How will this session be beneficial for the communities in the region of CEE?
Newcomers will be better able to understand funding opportunities from the Wikimedia Foundation and be better prepared to begin an application. Individuals and affiliates who have received funding before will understand how future funding applications will be easier and provide more flexibility around certain funding needs.
