Accommodation edit

Wikimedia UG Georgia organizes accommodation for selected delegates from the affiliation. The delegates during the conference will stay at Tbilisi Philharmonic Hotel.

All rooms include Wi-Fi and breakfast (08:00–11:00) and have their own bathroom.

  • Check-in: from 15:00
  • Check-out: by 12:00 at the latest

As accommodation for Affiliate Delegates is funded by a WMF grant and we are trying to keep expenses down, please be aware that you must share a twin room. During registration you can name a person you would like to share the twin bed room with.

There are three international airports in Georgia, two in Western Georgia and one in Eastern. These airports are:

  • Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport: the busiest international airport of Georgia, located 17 km (30 min from the city center by car) southeast of the capital, Tbilisi. The airport is served by approximately 30 airlines, mainly from Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia serving roughly 30 destinations out of Tbilisi. The airport is also closely connected with the Istanbul Airport, and therefore getting to Tbilisi is easy with a transfer to Istanbul.
  • David Aghmashenebeli Kutaisi International Airport: airport located 14 km west of Kutaisi, the third largest city of Georgia and capital of the region of Imereti. The airport mainly serves low-cost airlines. The airport is served by approximately 5 airlines and is connected with cities such as Abu Dhabi, Athens, Barcelona, Beauvais, Berlin, Budapest, Charleroi, Dortmund, Gdańsk, Hahn, Hamburg, Katowice, Kraków, Larnaca, Madrid, Memmingen Milan–Malpensa, Poznań, Prague, Riga, Rome–Fiumicino, Tallinn, Thessaloniki, Vienna, Vilnius, Warsaw–Chopin, Wrocław, Aktau, Almaty, Astana, Atyrau, Shymkent. The airport is currently connected to scheduled buses operated by Georgian Bus and Omnibus Express, with services to Kutaisi, Tbilisi, and Batumi after each arrival. The airport terminal is located next to the main road between Kutaisi and Batumi, so it is also possible to transfer to those cities by intercity minibus.
  • Alexander Kartveli Batumi International Airport: airport located 2 km south of Batumi, a city on the Black Sea coast and capital of Adjara, an autonomous republic in southwest Georgia. The airport mainly serves seasonal flights but is also closely connected with the Istanbul Airport and Istanbul–Sabiha Gökçen, and therefore getting to Tbilisi is easy with a transfer to Istanbul. From Batumi to Tbilisi can be reached both by bus and by railway.
