Abstract (up to 100 words)

During the session Arpine and I are going to present the experience of Wikiclubs which we are having in our communities for already some years. Wikiclubs are non-formal educational centers in Armenian settlements where mainly school students attend to start editing on wiki projects (mainly Wikipedia, Wiktionary and Wikisource). Besides the editing process the Wikiclub coordinators organize various educational events for the students to make the Wikiclubs more attractive, interesting and useful places for the teenager editors. As the statistics show, the young editors start doing better at school and get skills for their future professions as well.

How will this session be beneficial for the communities in the region of Central and Eastern Europe?

The attendees can use the shared experience in their communities to improve educational environment.
