Summary edit

In the frame of Why women don’t edit Wikipedia we collaborate with feminist groups and female focused IT groups organising events and discussions in various places. We share our learnings on working with these groups, we present what we achieved so far and examine various possibilities for the future. The feminist organisations added an interesting perspective to many issues, posed thought-provoking questions and helped us better understand how women outside the Wikimedia movement perceive it.

More specifically we will present:

  • The profile of the 3 groups we collaborate with (SheSharp, Telesilla, ToMov)
  • Aftermaths of the workshops organised
  • Results of the questionnaire distributed to 300 women all over Greece
  • Learning patterns of how to establish trust with feminist groups
  • The problems we faced
  • Remarks of what we did right and what we did wrong
  • The questions posed to us and how we responded to them
  • The work we did with female educators and female high school students

Expected outcomes edit

  • Inspiration for similar collaborations in other countries
  • Make this task more effective for the future
