Pour la seconde année consécutive, des enregistrements en studio de cantiques de Noël ont été publiés en polonais sur Wikimedia Commons.
En voici quelques titres, dont les fichiers audio désormais disponibles gratuitement aux formats .WAV et .OGG:
Il y a quelques années, Borys Kozielski un membre de Wikimedia Polska, "journaliste de profession, podcasteur de cœur", comme il se décrit lui-même, déplorait l'absence répétée de fichiers musicaux et audio parmi les articles Wikipedia.
"Je cherche différents moyens pour faciliter la communication et l'échange d'idées, d'opinions et d'expériences" affirmait Kozielski.
En septembre 2013, un ami de Kozielski lui fait une suggestion. "Un de mes amis en France, Patryk Michalski (Paterm) m'a soufflé l'idée d'enregistrer des cantiques de Noël polonais en studio." L'idée enchante alors Kozielski. “Mon fils [Bartłomiej Kozielski] dirige un groupe pour la promotion de jeunes talents, Studio Accantus, tous passionnés de chant. Lorsque je lui en ai parlé, mon fils a tout de suite adhéré au projet. Devant la possibilité d'enrichir la plus grande encyclopédie du monde par des illustrations musicales de leur propre cru, nos jeunes talents montants se sont vite lancés à corps perdu dans cette noble tâche.”
En collaboration avec Wikimedia Polska, Kozielski se met à l’œuvre afin de trouver les financements pour les orchestrations et arrangements des morceaux. “La tâche, qui semblait facile au début, est vite devenue un casse-tête,” affirme Kozielski. “Les jeunes artistes ont dû apprivoiser des traditions vieilles de plusieurs siècles et pour le rendu final, nous ne souhaitions faire ni dans le conservatisme, ni dans le modernisme. La tâche était tout aussi ardue pour Marcin Kuczewski, responsables des arrangements. Parmi les facteurs essentiels de motivation, il y avait le fait de pouvoir apposer leur propre nom des participants sur le projet, en accord avec les termes de la licence CC-BY."
La licence CC-BY exige la mention du nom des auteurs de l’œuvre publiée sous cette licence.
"On a commencé par dresser une liste de cantiques de Noël, parmi ceux tombés dans le domaine public. On a puisé dans des Wikisources pour les paroles et partitions. Notre arrangeur a préparé des maquettes avec les chœurs. Le directeur artistique a retenu les chanteurs et les chœurs qui convenaient le mieux. Il a fallu plus d'un mois pour l'enregistrement avant de revenir vers l'arrangeur, qui avait finalisé les accompagnements définitifs. Toujours selon le cahier des charges établi, on a mis en ligne sur Wikimedia Commons non seulement les chansons finalisées mais aussi les accompagnements et les instrumentations midi . Grâce à cela, de nombreux foyers en Pologne et ailleurs ont pu faire vivre les traditions du pays dès l'an passé, les chanter et les partager pour les fêtes de fin d'année en famille.” déclare Kozielski. “Une fois le projet terminé, on a partagé les enregistrements sur quantité de sites en ligne et dont la fréquentation n'a jamais tari au fil du temps.”
Un des titres du projet de 2013 a fait également l'objet d'une vidéo.
Depuis la sortie de la première compilation de cantiques en 2013, la politique de Wikimedia Commons a changé pour y inclure le populaire format audio .WAV de haute qualité. Borys Kozielski et son équipe continuent leur collaboration sur d'autres projets audio. Kozielski organise des ateliers radio pour les jeunes. Il a créé une fondation nommée Open up faisant elle même partie de la Coalition pour l'éducation ouverte en Pologne. Sa première rencontre avec Wikipedia remonte à 2002, mais il a fallu attendre 2010, lors d'une condéfrence Wikimania à Gdańsk pour susciter davantage son intérêt et son engagement. “J'ai été frappé par le gigantisme du projet, sa portée mondiale et sa mission. C'est alors que m'est venue l'idée des enregistrement de Lekcje z Wikipedii, disponibles à présent sous forme de podcasts,” explique Kozielski. “en raison des changements de dynamique de Mediawiki, ceux-ci ne sont plus à jour et n'existent que pour les archives, mais grâce à ces podcasts et quelques fidèles compagnons de route wikipédiens, j'ai appris à me familiariser avec les règles de création de la communauté Wikimedia, à l'instar de bon nombre de mes auditeurs.”
Le groupe a continué d'enregistrer ses podcasts en direct pour Radio Wnet puis les a rendus par la suite disponibles sur Wikimedia commons. À partir de là, Kozielski a projeté de créer une plate-forme de communication pour l'ensemble des projets Wikimedia, tout en poursuivant l'enregistrement hebdomadaire de nouveau épisode de "Nowiny Wikiradia", dont l'objet est de commenter, décrire et d'informer des nouvelles avancées, idées et initiatives sur Wikimedia depuis 2011. "Grâce à Radio Wnet nous faisons vivre une chaîne de radio en streaming sur www.wikiradio.org."
“Nous vivons une époque où apprendre ne suffit plus, nous devons apprendre à apprendre, nous apprenons de manière constante, au quotidien, et je crois que xela porte déjà ses frutis dans la nouvelle génération.” explique Kozielski. “On est à deux doigts de toucher le monde de demain.”

Tell me about yourself, who are you? Where are you from?
I’m a Wikimedianin from Poland. A journalist by profession, a podcaster by heart. I’m fascinated by how small local social groups and and interest groups communicate. I conduct radio workshops for young people. I’m looking for ways of improving communication, exchanging views, thoughts and experiences. I started a foundation called “Open up” which is a part of Coalition for Open Education. I’m a member of Wikimedia Poland Association.
What do you do with Wikipedia or other Wikiprojects?
I do sound-related projects. I’m writing a beginner’s guide for podcasters in Wikimedia Books, I am doing the recordings in The Actors Literature Interpretation Studio from Wikisource, I am recording Wikipedia articles for Commons (Spoken Wikipedia) and I got involved in the Voice Intro Project. Along with some colleagues I am creating Wikiradio and the broadcasts about Wikimedia Poland Assocation, we describe and comment on the Wikimedia and open culture events all across the world.
Tell me about the Polish Carols you have worked on?
The idea came to life last September. A friend of mine from France, Patryk Michalski (Paterm) pitched the idea of a professional recording of Polish Christmas carols. Wikimedia Commons often lacks in recordings of good music, even when it’s in public domain. My son is a director of a group of young artists called Studio Accantus, who all love singing. When I told him about the project he instantly got interested. The possibility of enriching the biggest encyclopedia of the world with musical illustrations of their own was a really important and noble task for these talented and rising artists. Wikimedia Poland Association provided funding for the orchestrations and arrangements of the songs. The task that seemed easy at first turned out to be quite a challenge. Young artists had to face the tradition going back a few hundred years and we didn’t want the rendition to be too conservative or too modern. It was also a big challenge for Marcin Kuczewski, the arranger. A factor that was quite significant and motivating was signing the project with their own names, in line with the requirements of the CC-BY license. First we prepared the list of the christmas carols, whose copyright has expired. We got the lyrics and the sheet music from Wikisource. The arranger prepared the draft versions of the backing tracks. The director chose the appropriate vocalists and the people for the backing vocals. The recordings of the vocalists took more than a month and then went back to the arranger, who prepared the final version of the backing tracks. In accordance with the agreement, the files uploaded to Wikimedia Commons were not only the final songs but also the backing and midi tracks. Thanks to that many families in Polish homes can cultivate polish traditions since last year, singing and experiencing these family holidays. After we finished the project we shared the recording on many websites, which are still visited by many people. We are currently working on some other projects for Wikimedia Poland with the young actors and singers.
How did you get involved with Wikimedia projects? Can you describe the first time you began to understand how wikis work? How have you seen your work influence others?'
I first heard about Wikipedia in 2002. After a short period of being fascinated by the method of cooperation, when confronted with its effects, I losed interest. After a few efforts of supplementing the Wikipedia articles in which I had some knowledge I stopped taking care of it. It wasn’t until 2010 during Wikimania in Gdansk than I met people form all over the world and started to become interested in the structure, relations and methods of cooperation used by the Wikipedians. I was struck by the enormity of the project, its global reach and mission. That was when I came up with and idea of recording Lekcje z Wikipedii, which are available today in the form of podcasts. Because of the dynamic changes in Mediawiki, they are no longer up to date and are only there for the archival purposes, but thanks to these podcasts and some fellow Wikipedians I got to know the rules of creating the Wikimedia society, as many listeners did with me. We recorded the podcasts live in Radio Wnet and later put them on a special website and on Wikimedia Commons. In time Lekcje z Wikipedii evolved into Wikiradio, an idea to cocreat a platform of communication for all the Wikimedia projects. Since 2011 we regularly record new episodes, about once a week, commenting, describing and informing about new ventures, ideas and initatives in Wikimedia. Thanks to Radio Wnet we maintain an internet radio stream at www.wikiradio.org. We record and share recordings from NGO conferences on open license, so that the notion of free access to the resources of human knowledge are available for free in every corner of the world and everyone who can’t participate in these events live is able to somehow take part in them in any chosen time and place. We live in the times when it’s not enough to learn. We have to learn how to learn. We learn constantly, daily, and I think that it’s already coming to fruition in the new generation. We came that much closer to the future.

Jestem Wikimedianinem z Polski. Z wykształecenia dziennikarzem, z zamiłowania podkasterem. Fascynują mnie metody komunikacji małych społeczności lokalnych i grup zainteresowań. Prowadzę dla młodziezy zajęcia radiowe. Szukam sposobów na poprawienie komunikacji, wymiany poglądów, myśli i doświadczeń. Założyłem Fundację "Otwórz się", która jest członkiem Koalicji Otwartej Edukacji. Jestem członkiem Stowarzyszenia Wikimedia Polska.
What do you do with Wikipedia or other Wikiprojects?
Zajmuję się projektami związanymi z dźwiękiem. Piszę poradnik dla początkujących podkasterów w Wikimedia Books, realizuję nagrania w Studiu Aktorskich Interpretacji Literatury z Wikiźródeł, nagrywam hasła Wikipedii do Commons (Spoken Wikipedia) zaangażowałem się w Voice Intro Project. Z kolegami tworzymy Wikiradio i audycje o działaniu Stowarzyszenia Wikimedia Polska, opisujemy i komentujemy wydarzenia ze świata wikimediów a także wolnej kultury.

Pomysł zrodził się w zeszłym roku we wrześniu. Kolega z Francji, Patryk Michalski (Paterm) podsunął myśl, żeby zaproponować Stowarzyszeniu Wikimedia Polska nagranie profesjonalnie wykonanych kolęd polskich. W Wikimedia Commons brakuje dobrej jakości nagrań nawet tych utworów, które są w domenie publicznej. Mój syn kieruje grupą młodych artystów Studia Accantus, którzy kochają śpiewanie. Kiedy powiedziałem mu o projekcie od razu się zainteresował. Dla utalentowanych twórców stojących u progu kariery, możliwość wzbogacenia największej encyklopedii światailustracjmi w postaci własnej twórczości było niezwykle nobilitującym i ważnym zadaniem. Dzięki zgłoszeniu do Stowarzyszenia Wikimedia Polska projektu "Kolędy Polskie" uzyskaliśmy finansowanie niezbędnych orkiestracji i aranżacji potrzebnych do nagrań wokalistów. Z początku łatwe zadanie okazało sie dużym wyzwaniem. Młodzi artyści zmierzyli się z tradycja sięgającą kilkustet lat a nie chcieliśmy, żeby były wykonane zbyt konserwatywnie, lub zbyt nowocześnie. Dla kompozytora Marcina Kuczewskiego, to też było niezwykłe wyzwanie. Nie bez znaczenia i bardzo motywujący był fakt podpisania swojej twórczości imieniem i nazwiskiem, zgodnie z wymaganiami licencji CC-BY.Najpierw przygotowaliśmy listę kolęd, których prawa autorskie majątkowe z pewnością wygasły. Z Wikiiźródeł zaczerpnęliśmy teksty i nuty. Kompozytor przygotował robocze wersje podkładów. Reżyser wybrał odpowiednich wokalistów i osoby śpiewające w chórach. Nagrania wokalistów zajęły ponad miesiąc i potem wróciły do kompozytora, który przygotował ostateczną wersję aranżacji. Zgodnie z umową do Wikimedia Commons trafły nie tylko finalne nagrania kolęd, ale także podkłady muzyczne i pliki midi. Dzięki temu wiele rodzin w polskich domach już od zeszłych świąt Bożego Narodzenia może kultywować polskie tradycje wspólnie śpiewając i przeżywając te najbardziej z rodzinnych świąt w ciągu roku. Po zakończonym projekcie udostępniliśmy nagrania na wielu poratlach, które cieszą się nadal wielkim zainteresowaniem odbiorców. Nagraliśmy wideo z udziałemwystępujących wokalsitów (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Mx2fWHOSAY). Z młodymi aktorami realizujemy kolejne projekty dla Wikimiedia Polska.

O Wikipedii pierwszy raz usłyszałem w 2002 roku. Po krótkim okresie chwilowej fascynacji metodą współdziałania i konfrontacji z jej efektami porzuciłem to zainteresowanie. Po kilku próbach wzbogacenia Wikipedii z dziedzin, które były mi znane pzrestałem się nią zajmować. Dopero w 2010 roku podczas Wikimanii w Gdańsku, gdy spotkałem ludzi z całego świata zacząłem interesować się strukturą, zależnościami i metodami współpracy wikipedystów. Poraziła mnie wielkość projektu, jego globalny zasięg i misja. Wtedy narodził się pomysł nagrywania Lekcji z Wikipedii, które do dziś są dostepne w formie podkastów. Dziś, ze względu na dynamiczne zmiany w Mediawiki mają już w większości charakter archiwalny, ale dzięki tym podkastom i kolegom wikipedystom poznałem lepiej zasady tworzenia społeczności wkimedian, a razem z nami wielu słuchaczy. Podkasty nagrywaliśmy na żywo w Radiu Wnet, a poźniej były umieszczane na stronie podkastu i w Wikimedia Commons. Z czasem Lekcje z Wikipedii przerodziły się w Wikiradio, pomysł na współtworzenie komunikacyjnej platformy dla wszystkich projektów Wikimedia i wikipedystów. Od 2011 roku regularnie nagrywamy audycje, mniej więcej co tydzień, komentując, opisując i informując o nowych przedsięwzięciach, pomysłach i inicjatywanch wikimediów. Utrzymujemy dzięki wsparciu Radia Wnet strumień radia internetowego pod adresem www.wikiradio.org. Nagrywamy i udostępniamy na wolnych licencjach nagrania z konferencji organizacji pozarządowych, dzięki czemu idea wolnego dostępu do zasobów ludzkiej wiedzy ciągle się poszerza. Dzięki naszym audycjom, treści prezentowane podczas audycji i konferencji dostepne są za darmo w każdym zakątku świata i każdy, kto nie może uczestniczyć w tych wydarzeniach na żywo ma możliwość uczestniczenia w wybranym przez siebie miejscu i czasie. Żyjemy w czasach, gdy nie wystarczy się nauczyć. Powinniśmy się uczyć jak się uczyć. Uczymy się stale, codziennie i myślę, że to już owocuje w nowym pokoleniu sprzężeniem zwrotnym. Dzięki temu przyszłość stała się bliższa.
