Wikimedia/Museum Day 2020/Wikidata Competition/Participate
Anyone with a Wikimedia account could participate in the competition. We were using a tool called the Outreach Dashboard to keep track of the participants' contributions.
How to enroll
You had to allow the Dashboard of at least one of the 5 categories to track your contributions. In case you wanted to participate in more than one category, you had to enroll in the other Dashboard(s) as well.
Once you were enrolled, your edits to Wikidata items about museums in the chosen country were tracked in the Dashboard.
- When to enroll
You could enroll at any time during the competition. If you made any edits to museum items after the start of the competition, but before enrolling, they counted towards your score.
How to find items to edit
Overview
There are several ways to find interesting Wikidata items to edit.
If you wanted to add data about a specific museum, type in the institution’s name in the search field on Wikidata.
We prepared queries to help you find museums in the five countries and get an overview of how well they are described on Wikidata, using selected properties and label descriptions.
You could use these queries to identify items in need of improvement.
