Wikimania 2022 Entertainment Grant Application

This proposal relates to costs associated with the entertainment that will take place during Wikimania conference in South Africa.

Background

WikimediaZA brings together a diverse community of South African Wikimedians to Celebrate the 2022 Wikimania. In this regard, we have applied for funding to allow our community to join the conference online and to also join Wikimania related physical events taking place on the last day of the conference which will comprise of meet-ups in Johannesburg and in Cape town where Wikimedians will cut a cake, eat together and watch uniquely South African pre-recorded performances from both venues.

Budget Breakdown

To celebrate our diversity, we will be hiring the Zulu dancers - Indlondlo Zulu Dance Group. We have already applied for funding which covers video recording but does not cover the hiring of the music group. Thus, this proposal covers the payment of the musical group and other costs that may arise related to the entertainment.
