This report covers the period from May 1st 2020 to April 30 2021.
Introduction
editThis year 2020, had been a special year for all of us with the COVID-19 pandemic. This has impacted our activities of course but had also been the year the community shows its resiliency adapting itself to new ways to contribute to the sum of all knowledge in all forms: Editing Wikipedia, Contributng to Commons, LinguaLibre, Wikifon projects and many others.
Activities
editSince our official recognition by the wikimedia movement, we've done many activities and projects to make the open knowledge accessible to all in the country. Among them, we have:

Wikipedia Fon contribution workshop | March 27th, 2021 | Participants register pronounciation of some Fon words on the Wiktionary using the LinguaLibre tool | 2 new Fon Wikipedia articles created + fon words pronounciation registered. Upload on Commons and on Wiktionary on the way. |
Projects
editProject:Les sans pagEs/Benin: launched in December 2020 for regular workshops for women and by women to bridge the gap and the critical gender bias on Wikipedia with regard to Africa in general and Benin in particular. The results of the first cohort are here
Events & Conferences
editWikimedianss from Bénin had been honored to celebrate with our friends Wikimedians from Guinea-Conakry the 20th wikipedia birthday. From January 11th to January 18th, Fawaz, one of our members represented all the wikimedia community of Benin at the celebrations.
Legal status
editSince July 2020, The user group is legally recognized as a non-profit organisation in Bénin under the name Wikimedia Bénin.
