The project
editDescription
editDescribe the project or event.
- For 2 days, 48 hours, and 8 days of prior invitation, Bolivian readers will fill out data on Wikidata, from their homes, mainly information about art and literature of Bolivia in the 20th and 21st centuries.
Why is this project needed? What will it solve or improve?
- We have very little information on contemporary Bolivian writers (21st and 20th centuries) on Wikipedia, despite the fact that these writers published more than one book and even the most famous won national and international awards.
Activities
editTell us how you'll carry out your project. What will you and other organizers spend your time doing? What will you have done at the end of your project?
- 1. Launch the invitation for the application of participants for 8 days on social networks with banners and paid advertising
- 2. Register applicants to participate in the marathon
- 3. Buy bibliography (books) for distribution among selected registered applicants who have confirmed their participation in the marathon (books will remain with the participants as a prize)
- 4. Buy and distribute recharge cards for the cell lines of the marathon participants
- 5. Give a virtual Wikidata workshop for the participants
- 6. Send home lunch and dinner for 2 days to marathon participants
- 7. Count the number of articles in Wikidata modified and their delivery in sister projects
- 8. Socialize the results (new and modified items) for consultation on Wikidata and sister projects
Measures of success
editWhat are criteria you will define success for your project, and how do you intend to measure for them? What are your targets for these measurements?
- 1. At least 33 marathon participants and at least 400 new or modified entries in Wikidata with proper bibliographic support (goals under record)
- 2. At least 20 new users to Wikimedia projects
- 3. At least 1 virtual Wikidata workshop aimed at registered participants
Community
editWho is your target audience for this project, and how will you ? How will you engage the community you’re aiming to serve at various points during your project?
- Readers of contemporary Bolivian writers (consumers of contemporary literary production published by national and foreign publishers).
- Young readers from growing cities like El Alto and the Santa Cruz metropolitan area where access to libraries is limited and the local authors are unknowed.
- Bolivian students who need to learn in their own laguaje about research, history and literature by their own way, because the scholar year has beeen closed by the government to prevent COVID-19
- Marathon participants will be summoned through an alliance with independent Bolivian publishers and related cultural entities
- The records of the trainings will be published in Wiimedia Commons.
