Nearest railway station is Parasnath railway station on the Asansol-Gaya section of Delhi-Howrah Grand Chord, situated in Isri bazar, Dumri, Jharkhand. Its around 25km from Madhuban. Almost all the major trains running on The Grand Chord line (Delhi to Kolkata) stop at Parasnath station. These include New Delhi - Kolkata Rajdhani Express, Puri - New Delhi Purushottam Express, Mumbai- Howrah Mail, Ahmedabad-Asansol Parasnath Express. In view of the tourist volume, Parasnath station has been built as a model station by Indian Railways. There is also a small station at Nimiaghat at the base of Parasnath Hill.

Parasnath Hill is situated by Grand Trunk Road or National Highway 2 connecting Kolkata to New Delhi. The nearby place for reaching Parasnath is Ranchi 190 KM, Bokaro 40 KM, Dhanbad 60 KM and Hazaribagh 80 km.

Approach edit

We will reach summit of Parasnath Hill from northern approach which is a 13 km route from Madhuban village, situated on the Dumri-Giridih road, which is about 10 km from Parasnath railway station or Isri Bazaar. Buses, Hired cars or taxis ply along this route from Dumri to Giridih and stop at Madhuban village.

Trek will start from Bhomiyaji Asthan in Madhuan village at foothills.After 1km walk, the trek starts. After about 2km, the first rest will be at Kalikund Parshwanath temple. After 2km, there is a stream called Gandharva nala/Bhata gruh and further 2 km up there is another stream Sheetal nala, covering Chopra Kund here, crossing which leads to the summit almost 3km ahead south. We hope to reach the first Tonk of Gautam Swami, where the trekking ascent will end, by sunrise. After resting there, we will be moving to east side first cover east batch of tonks and then about 2km trek to Chandraprabhu tonk which is at the east most part of the hill. Then we will go the southern most tonk of Abhinandan Swami. One the way we will cover south batch of tonks. From there we will reach Jalmandir where toilet are available. This point is where we will eat our snacks and have some rest. From there, we will go northwords back to Gautam Swami Tonk. From there we will move westwords to Parshwanth Tonk which is the highest point. On the way, we will cover western batch of tonks. From Parshwanath tonk, we will be climbing down towards another trek north-and-then-eastwards meeting back to Sheetal Nala. From there we will further climb down to the starting point in Madhuban. We must start climbing down from Parasnath hill before 2:30pm to come down by sunset.
