According to UNICEF, over half of the world's children experience severe violence. It is estimated that 64 per cent of these children are in South Asia. In the same article, they also clarified that not only for the victim but also for anyone who witnesses the violence, the best way to address violence is to prevent it. But it is noteworthy that as part of an encyclopedia, no initiative has been taken to introduce child abuse and neglect to Wikipedia communities in the region. So, for the first time, we are organizing Wiki Loves Children on Bengali Wikipedia and Wikibooks. Like other wikibooks, the Bengali Wikibooks has a project for children called Wikijunior (উইকিশৈশব), but is currently almost inactive. Therefore, we have included it in the project with the aim of enriching and expanding its use in online learning activities for junior students. Especially during the Covid-19 pandemic period it can play a vital role in online learning and we will try to make Wikibooks (especially Wikijunior) a child-friendly alternative to Wikipedia.
নিয়মাবলী
	Applicable rules for Wikipedia- Expanded or new article size must be at least 300 words and 3000 bytes. Article that are machine translated will not be accepted. Article must be expanded or created between October 1 and October 15, 2021. The content of the article should be child related. There should be no copyright infringement and notable problems. নিবন্ধটির উইকিপিডিয়া নীতি অনুসারে যথাযথ তথ্যসূত্র থাকতে হবে। The book created (/extended) for the purpose of the contest must be submitted using the Fountain Tool. Applicable rules for Wikibooks- A new original book/book page can be created or a non-Bengali book/book page can be translated [into Bengali]. The book/page must be readable to children from the age of 12 years. The article will not be accepted if it is mechanically translated or written in a tone that is unsuitable for children. The article must be created (or extended *) between 16 October and 31 October. The article should not contain any copyright violations and notability problems. Books created for the purpose of the contest (/ extended) must be submitted using the Fountain Tool.
