Manuscript Exchange Common Approach (MECA)

• is project to transfer reviews (and manuscripts) between journals

Simple Web-service Offering Repository Deposit (SWORD)

• SWORD2 might be sufficient
• SWORD3 will be better long term (not yet implemented in OJS, but likely upcoming next year)
• SWORD3 will likely not be back-compatible, so devving for SWORD2 would still need to be adapted (but should be relatively quick)
• Therefore probably best to implement basics now and update later

Declaring whether wish to be open - can be handled via custom form in OJS

Peer review forms currently have unlabelled fields - will need symbolic names (but some precedent elsewhere in system)

OJS Version

• Start using 3.3.0
• 3.4.0 (coming early next year) will include namespaces and aspects that will make API additions
