Abstract:
The Foundation is piloting a new approach to recruiting newbies in Africa, using an online "big funnel" and high-quality learning modules on core policies. An initial pilot with live lessons to existing editors showed reverted edits drop to a third of their previous level, demonstrating the effectiveness of high-quality teaching. The upcoming pilot will test whether self-paced recorded modules on WikiLearn can train motivated newbies and generate a reliable stream of competent Wikipedia editors. |
