Abstract:
This presentation explores the collaborative efforts between the Wikimedia UG Nigeria and JONAPWD to enhance the representation and documentation of minority groups in Nigeria. Highlighting the initiatives undertaken during the International Day of Disabilities in December 2023, this session will delve into the Wiki for Minorities (WfM) project, focusing on the areas of Disabili-Ties, Spiritualities, and Minorities. Attendees will gain insights into the strategies employed for raising awareness, building capacity, and engaging in practical documentation activities such as edit-a-thons and photo walks. The session aims to inspire and equip participants with the knowledge to replicate similar initiatives in their regions. |
