The Wikimedians of Lagos User Group plans to hold a one-day watch party and meet up to participate in the 2023 WikiIndaba conference. This event is aimed at providing an opportunity for our members to connect with the wider community, learn more about the Wikimedia movement in Africa, and participate in worthwhile discussions.
The watch-party will be held on the 5th of November 2023. During the watch-party, we wili watch live stream, pre-recorded sessions and carry out discussions in-between sessions. Throughout the day, the organizers will facilitate discussion panels where participants can share their experiences, raise questions, and engage in constructive conversations. We will be providing internet support for 23 of our participants who might not have the capacity to access to the internet during the conference. Also, we will be providing childcare support for three female community members to aid their participation.

- Jonywikis, Program Coordinator: Jonywikis is a seasoned Wikimedia volunteer who has organized many events in the past. He is a co-founder and leader of Wikimedians of Lagos User Group. He will be responsible for creating the program for the watch party and meet up. He will ensure that the program aligns with the theme of the conference and that all participants are engaged throughout the day.
- Opeolade. Logistics Coordinator: Opeolade is an experienced event planner who will be responsible for coordinating the logistics of the event. She will ensure that all relevant resources are available at the event venue and that the event runs smoothly.
- Biowikician, Outreach Coordinator: Biowikician is an experienced outreach coordinator who will be responsible for reaching out to our members and the wider community to ensure maximum participation in the event. He will also be responsible for coordinating the internet support and childcare services.

We are sincerely grateful for the time and effort you invested in applying for a micro-grant for WikiIndaba 2023. Your interest in contributing to this event is highly appreciated.
Unfortunately, we have to inform you that your application was not selected for the micro-grant. We received an overwhelming number of quality applications (77 applications for only 7 grants), which made the decision process extremely challenging. Given the constraints, our focus has been on projects from underrepresented communities or groups that lack on-site representation at the conference. The team decided therefore to provide the grants only to countries where there are no user groups at the moment.
Though your application was not selected, we greatly value your interest in WikiIndaba 2023.
