Our aim is to empower our local Wikimedia community through training and foster international collaboration during the hybrid event. This event embodies the spirit of Wikindaba theme by strengthening African connections and knowledge-sharing.
- Day 1: Training Workshops
The first day of our event will be dedicated to training workshops aimed at providing valuable skills and knowledge to Wikimedia enthusiasts and contributors. These workshops will cover a wide range of topics, including editing Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons, advanced editing techniques, and best practices in content creation and sourcing. By offering training sessions, we aim to equip participants with the necessary skills to become more effective contributors to the Wikimedia projects.

On the second day, we plan to host a hybrid event that coincides with second and final day of Wikindaba in Morocco. This hybrid event will not only connect our local Wikimedia community with the global movement but also align perfectly with Wikindaba's mission of fostering international collaboration and knowledge sharing. During this day, we will organize panel discussions, keynote speeches, and interactive sessions focused on local Wikimedia projects, challenges, and opportunities. Additionally, we will establish a live connection Streaming with Wikindaba in Morocco, allowing our participants to engage in real-time discussions and share insights with Wikimedians from across the globe. Jury decision
editDear Ayodelerance and colleagues from Wikimedia Fan Club LASU,
We are sincerely grateful for the time and effort you invested in applying for a micro-grant for WikiIndaba 2023. Your interest in contributing to this event is highly appreciated.
Unfortunately, we have to inform you that your application was not selected for the micro-grant. We received an overwhelming number of quality applications (77 applications for only 7 grants), which made the decision process extremely challenging. Given the constraints, our focus has been on projects from underrepresented communities or groups that lack on-site representation at the conference. The team decided therefore to provide the grants only to countries where there are no user groups at the moment.
Though your application was not selected, we greatly value your interest in WikiIndaba 2023. To stay engaged and catch all the latest updates, we invite you to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and instagram. Additionally, we encourage you to subscribe to our YouTube channel, where we'll be sharing conference highlights and key sessions. We also suggest reaching out to your group members who will be participating in the conference, so they can share experiences and learnings with you.
Best regards,
Organizing Committee, WikiIndaba Conference 2023 -- WikiIndaba2021 (talk) 15:40, 11 October 2023 (UTC)
