This will be mainly a hybrid gathering for Tanzanian Wikimedians to follow along with the interesting topics being presented at the main Wikiindaba 2023 in Agadir, Morocco. We are planning to have atleast 15 people to meet in person. Along with their remote participation to the main Wikiindaba conference, we will use the opportunity to raise awareness and discuss key topics affecting our movement including Regional and thematic hubs with emphasis to East African Regional and Thematic Hub (EARTH), Movement Charter, MCDC, and future plans for the topics of impact in our region/country. This will be also a great opportunity for participants to learn more about Wikiindaba itself and its organizing body WISCOM, Africa Agenda and African platforms (EARTHub, Afrika Baraza) and generally spark the spirit of participation to global movement events and discussions both onwiki and offline. Moreover, on this gathering, both online and imperson participants will get to know about Event Discovery,Growth features on wikis that help to retain new editors, learning platforms (Let's Connect) and Events Registration Tool being developed by WMF Campaigns product team to help them start/continue organizing events using the first ever on-wiki event reg tool within the movement, along with other new imbedded features that will also be explained during the upcoming office hours on Saturday, October 7 at 12:00 UTC and Tuesday, October 10 at 18:00 UTC.

• Gain practical skills on how to discover/organize and register for wiki events through events reg tool and eventdiscovery project
• Ofcourse get to socialize with other Wikiindaba participants and network

We are sincerely grateful for the time and effort you invested in applying for a micro-grant for WikiIndaba 2023. Your interest in contributing to this event is highly appreciated.

Unfortunately, we have to inform you that your application was not selected for the micro-grant. We received an overwhelming number of quality applications (77 applications for only 7 grants), which made the decision process extremely challenging. Given the constraints, our focus has been on projects from underrepresented communities or groups that lack on-site representation at the conference. The team decided therefore to provide the grants only to countries where there are no user groups at the moment.

Though your application was not selected, we greatly value your interest in WikiIndaba 2023.
