Less than 1 in 5 biographies on Wikipedia are about women. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, join Consulate of Sweden, Mumbai and UNESCO, New Delhi to help bridge the gender gap in the digital space.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2021, Consulate of Sweden, Mumbai and UNESCO, New Delhi are organizing #WIKIGAP-WIKI4WOMXN edit-a-thon in collaboration with Wikimedians of India, aiming at promoting better representation of women in the digital sphere through the development of women profiles on Wikipedia. Last year’s campaign helped to create/expand/translate 286 Wikipedia articles related to women who play important roles in Education, Culture, the Sciences, Culture and Communications.
Considering the ongoing pandemic, we are organizing an online webinar and training followed by edit-a-thon.
